Topology of memory

Observations and links with my ever-expanding community of practice

Welcome to my site. The title 'Topology of memory' reflects the focus of my practice, which is to explore the role of memory in the formation of identity and development of personal agency. Key considerations include:

  • the power of sub conscious and/or overt memory, including the distinction between private and public memory (i.e., history)

  • the role of time, archive and maps in the formation of memories

  • the benefits of letting go of memories

My posts will make observations about my ever expanding community of practice, consisting of artists, theorists and writers. Where appropriate I will highlight actual or aspirational links to my own work. My sources will include exhibitions, catalogues, books, movies and specific artworks. I will draw from my recent experiences as well as make observations moving forward.

The image below represents my concept map for work to date.
